Real Talk Thursdays #2 - One Day at a Time

Everyone has those days when nothing goes right. We had one of those recently. Usually when it happens, laying in bed, hiding under the covers (or, under your desk if you're at work) seems like an infinitely better option than facing the day.

Sometimes you know how your day will turn out right when you wake up - your alarm doesn't go off and you jump out of bed, remembering that the homework assignment you procrastinated on last night is due in 20 minutes. Other times it's a series of small, unfortunate events that add straws to the proverbial camel's back.

- Maybe today your garage door breaks and your car is stuck inside so you're late to work.
- Maybe today happens to be a fire alarm testing day at work.
- Maybe today you look like an absolute n00b at the DMV because you didn't bring cash or a check.
- Maybe today you received a package in the mail and you think the day is looking up now that you are back home and then you find out the contents in the box are damaged and no longer usable (or edible).

Not that those things actually happened to us... :)
But yet, every day has its good moments.

+ Maybe today you hitch a ride from a friend who's also late to work.
+ Maybe today you find out you avoided an overdraft charge by $1.
+ Maybe today your friend helps you avoid that overdraft charge by being awesome.
+ Maybe today you get two packages and one of them has awesome stuff in it.
+ Maybe today you find out that you reached 2000 views!

Without bad, we would not know good. At least we all have more good days than bad days, right? When the world seems to be working against you and all else fails, remember, there's always tomorrow! So do some yoga, take a bath and start tomorrow with a clear, refreshed mind.
