Leading Lady's dark red look is well-suited for medium to deep skin tones as an everyday polish and for lighter skin tones it adds a vibrant pop of color to any look. It would have a gel/creme finish if the glitter didn't give it a bumpier appearance. Its glitter and color combo make it pretty unique as far as red nail polishes go. If you are doing more than one coat, you may have a little trouble getting the glitter to apply evenly and the polish to apply well, in general (see Kayla's picture). Again, we wouldn't wear this color for more than a day or two. It's hard to apply smoothly, especially on the tips and even with a top coat it just doesn't feel right on your nails.

Leading Lady is part of Essie’s Winter 2012 collection available now. This color can usually be found at places that normally carry Essie - Target, Walgreens, Ulta, etc. Be on the lookout because the Winter colors might be on a different display from the permanent Essie polishes.
Permanent Essie polishes can also be found at Kmart and Walmart. You also can look for Essie online on Essie.com, Nordstrom.com, Beauty.com, Ulta.com, and others.

Our Tips for Perfect Tips:
Make sure to shake or roll the bottle well so as to evenly distribute the glitter and make the polish more even. Apply in thin coats to help prevent chipping and dragging. If you want to apply multiple coats, let this polish dry between coats to avoid dragging or chunking of the glitter. After a couple days, you may experience chipping.
